Website and real forum development Empty Website and real forum development

Post  Neki Wed Jan 28, 2009 12:30 am

I was creating this topic so we could maybe get a little bit of information about the making of the website and the real forum advencement. Let's just say we would love to get informed how everything is getting done. So this message is mainly concerning Tempura and Disney I guess since she is already part of the GM team.

The website is progressing fairly well, you can view what's done there: http://www.earlyro.com/

The forum I'm setting up right now. ^^

I'm hoping to start the server beta soon, just have to decide if we go with old or new svn, I'm leaning toward old fow now, but we'll have to test to make sure it's dupefree.

Thanks for the info Tempura. I gotta admit I also love the look of the website. Should we also register to the forum linked to the website Tempura?

Still setting it up for now, but sure if you want, I don't think it will cause any problem.

If you have a minute, check the different themes and give me some comments, trying to find a suitable one to replace the default Razz

I kind of like the "cleancut" one, but it should be more matching the website. The background should just be 1 colored and plain like the website. And the green "banners" should be darker "brown" like on the website as well.

That's all I can think of right now.

Example of what I mean, though the green "banners" are still there: example picture

Thanks for the suggestions, been working on the Early2 one so far, which is a variant of leaf and sand.

I'm noobing a bit, I haven't been able to find how to change the main color, for now it's white and doesn't look so bad, I'll leave it alone.

The leaf and sand theme is also missing a lot of buttons, not sure why.

Looks good. The green matches the "poporing" now as well. I don't think it really needs anymore changes to the layout now.
For some reason I can't view topics, so I can't judge how that looks.

It says this:

I made some change into the "RO in General" and "Comunity" forums, can you see the topic now? I didn't change anything in the other section so the rest should be the same.

Also, there were a lot of images missing, I think I covered it all, but if you see any still lacking please let me know!

I can view it now. Only thing that I have to comment on would be the text on the buttons. It's a little bit too big, otherwise it looks good Razz

Also, the emoticons box on the left side when you reply stretches a bit too far to the right making it look a bit odd.

As for missing images, it looks like you got them all. I can't find anything missing.

Thanks, I'll modify the rest of the forums to have the same permissions.

As for the button text, too lazy to redo it, maybe someday Razz

Can you make sure that you can post or reply in the normal section, but that you cannot in the announcement section (the one on top).

Alright, and the buttons doesn't really matter. It's just a small detail Razz

Edit: As it is right now, I can post in that "Welcome" topic but I can't view the "News" topic.

This isn't the "real" forum, so there's not really any point in changing the style here anymore.
